2018 - Round the Island Race -

One of our clients posted the picture on the left and the comments below.

"Jolly Parrot Sailing's mixed bag of both experienced and novice crew "Team Par Excellence" coming back in to Cowes after finishing the race. The wind and tides were not kind, the worst sailing conditions for Round the Island Race for some time. Massive thank you to a superb coach and skipper Ian Patience pushing us on. What an experience."

What a race- well we finished more than can be said off the 1208 yachts that started on Saturday 7 July. Of the 1208 yachts thats started only 656 finished with ourseleves coming 249 which is better than our result of 2017.

This year we were sailing for one of our partners Jolly Parrot who arrange everything and what a great setup they had, welcome dinner on the Thursday evening - Race training on the Friday and a fantastic party on Saturday night in Cowes Haven.

I had 7 clients who worked very hard to get the yacht around the course with light winds and challenging tidal conditions. This meant it was a highly tactical race for the 13 hours it took us to complete the course.
